GCSE maths in Hanoi_online teaching

I have 10+ years of experience teaching at schools in the UK and abroad. I have taught students from 10 years old up to 18 years old, and all abilities within that age range, including students with Special Educational Needs.
I am an examiner for GCSE maths.

I studied aerospace engineering at university and qualified as a teacher in 2007. I also teach ICT and enjoy programming, particularly web apps.
In my spare time I enjoy racket sports, water sports and cycling. I speak English fluently and can speak Italian and Spanish at conversational level.

I teach online and demonstrate methods using whichever tools are best for a particular topic: pen and paper with an HD document camera, physical whiteboard, on-screen whiteboard, etc. I have a vast range of resources such as worksheets, interactive web apps, websites, etc. at my disposal and make new resources as and when they are needed. Between sessions, I provide a short (max. 5 minutes) exercise-a-day for my students to complete based on the work that they have done or will be doing so that they do not forget what they have learned. With weaker students I simplify the maths and relate the topics they are having trouble with to concepts they are comfortable with. With stronger students I find ways to challenge their abilities and teach more through discovery: I give the students prompts to help them 'discover' things for themselves through the work they are doing.
