Enthusiastic and experienced, Native Spanish Teacher

Buenos Dias! My name is Liliana and I am a native Spanish speaker from Barranquilla, Colombia. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Education from my country of origin.

I am an experienced Spanish teacher having worked most recently in a British international school in Dubai, UAE. I also have worked in Colombia, Guatemala, and Russia teaching Spanish and English.

I have taught students with a wide range of needs: children (at elementary, middle, and high school levels) who needed help with Spanish for school as well as adults who want to improve their Spanish for business, for an upcoming trip or for self-improvement. I can focus on fluency in speaking, listening-comprehension, reading, writing, pronunciation, and/or grammar.

After earning my Bachelor's degree in teaching Spanish in Bogota, Colombia, I completed my student teaching in Guatemala and Russia. I then worked as an MYP Spanish teacher at a British International School in Dubai, UAE before recently moving to Hanoi, Vietnam.

EXPERIENCE Dubai International Academy, Dubai, UAE. Sept 2019-July 2020 MYP/IB Spanish Teacher • Taught MYP/IB Spanish classes to Years 7, 8, & 11. • Prepared creative lesson plans meant to reach students on various learning levels. • Graded papers, exams and projects in order to assess student knowledge and provide evaluation. • Maintained communication with parents and administrators regarding student progress and issues. GEMS International School Al Khail, Dubai, UAE March-June 2019 Substitute/Supply Teacher • Implemented existing lesson plans in a wide range of classes at the middle and high school levels. • Provided effective classroom management/student management and clear instruction. INTERNSHIPS Liceo La Salle Chiquimula School, Chiquimula, Guatemala. July 2018 English Teaching Internship • Planned, designed, and utilized lesson plans in my work with students from 4th grade to 10th grade. • Utilized a variety of teaching methods to ensure each student acquired a foundational knowledge of English. Anglo-American School of St. Petersburg, Russia January-February 2018 Spanish Teaching Internship • Co-taught a high school, multi-grade and multi-level Spanish class. • Wrote lesson plans on several topics and helped the Head Teacher grade assessments.

I am a flexible, supportive and dynamic teacher. I will determine each student's specific learning needs and interests and develop lesson plans according to those.
